The house, which is detached and dates from the late 17th. Century, overlooks the beautiful, historic town of Nafplion (the first capital of modern Greece). The town has good access by road, rail and sea (Athens airport is two hours by road) and is an excellent centre for touring the Peloponnese with its delightful beaches, spectacular scenery and many archaeological sites (e.g. Mycenae, Olympia, Epidauros, which are all within easy reach). Nafplion has its own charming beach five minutes' walk from the house, several museums, art galleries, theatres, open-air cinema, three castles and an annual classical musical festival.

Electricity and weekly cleaning included in price. The house is reached by stone steps that might prove demanding for elderly people. There is convenient parking space in the street adjacent to the house. Normally the apartment is ready for occupancy at 12 noon on arrival day and clients are asked to vacate at 10 am on departure day. However, other arrangements are often possible by negotiation.
Location
Nafplio is situated at the top, sheltered end of the Argolic Gulf, sitting astride its own small peninsular, with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. By car, it is one hour from Tripoli, forty minutes from Corinth, and ten minutes from Argos.
Major airport is Athens 100 miles away.

The house is very attractively restored, blending modern and period features. Around it are small, terraced gardens with mature lemon and olive trees and flowering shrubs, and it is always possible to sit outside in sun or shade.
Nafplion
Nafplion is often described as the loveliest and most sophisticated town in Greece. With its busy harbour front, narrow streets overhung by bougainvillea and many historically important buildings, it provides a perfect centre for the holiday-maker and tourist without being over-commercialised or spoiled by modern development.
The Area
The Argolid qualifies as Greece's best kept secret. The ancient home of great civilisations, it combines its rich archaeological remains with lovely scenery, hundreds of miles of beautiful coastline and a wonderful climate. And it is not overrun by tourists!
