Casa Pinedes is located on the slopes of Puig Sec in the beautiful Costa Brava village of L'Escala. With breath-taking views of the bay of Roses and the Pyrenees, the property boasts matured south facing gardens, shaded areas and a large swimming pool with plenty of sun. The house consists of three floors, the middle of which is the main floor with entrance door from the front garden. From the front door the main living area is found with kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a terrace with steps to the garden below. The upper floor has a bedroom, large bathroom and terrace which boasts possibly some of the best views in the village. The lower floor can be reached from stairs in main living area and has a small kitchen and dining/living area, two bedrooms, a further bathroom and another terrace which leads into the garden. The beach of Riells is located at about 15 mins walk. The beachfront has numerous bars and restaurants. Local supermarket are also located here

The Spanish seaside village of L'Escala is situated on the Mediterranean, 50km south of the French-Spanish border and 140km north of Barcelona. L'Escala is a cosmopolitan village, boasting 6 clean and safe beaches offering every water sport. There are many speciality restaurants, dozens of cafes and bars, a yacht marina, fishing harbour and extensive Greco Roman ruins at nearby Empuries. High season brings a fun fair and a variety of beach side restaurants are open with an abundance of choice.

In summer the town becomes bustling but not at all rowdy. The absence of any high-rise buildings gives it a bright and friendly atmosphere. Its geographical position makes it an ideal base for travelling further afield. Nearby Figueres was home to the famous artist Salvador Dali. Then there are the 'Villages Typiques' just north of the border near Perpignan. To the south there is the provincial capital of Gerona and the capital of Catalonia - Barcelona. To the west is the lake at Banyoles, Ripoll, duty free Andorra and the snow-capped Pyrenees with skiing for many months of the year. 2km north lies the walled medieval village of St. Marti with its pleasant Plaza Major, many bistros and pretty church and museum.
How to get to L'Escala
By Air: Most British airports have flights to Girona (Costa Brava). JMC Britannia, Ryanair or Buzz from Stansted to Perpignan, then taxi. Liverpool or Luton or East Midlands to Barcelona(Easyjet or BMi Baby) then underground train to Sants Station - change for Port Bou train, get off at Flaca Station, then taxi.
