Sterling Oaks is a gated community, consisting of mainly Private homes, with 100 acres of natural preserve. It is a tennis community, with a floodlit facility and pro-shop, and coaching is available. As the owners are not themselves members of the tennis club, there would be an extra charge for use of this facility. The Pool, located next to the club house, also boasts a jacuzzi and pool-side patio bar. A new (2003) fully equipped and staffed fitness room is situated below the club house. The many beautiful beaches and National Parks facilities of the Gulf Coast are within a short distance, and the Everglades National Park is 30 miles to the East. South West Florida has strict conservation laws to protect the natural habitat of wildlife in serene nature preserves.
