On the edge of the small village of Plan d'Orgon with restaurants and essential shops, just 4 kms away is the typical Provencal town of Cavaillon, with supermarkets, shops, restaurants and a weekly street market. Train station at Cavaillon, international airport & train station Marseille 60 kms, or Nimes 60 km.
The Area:
Ideally situated for visiting most of the 'must sees' of Provence, including the 'Year in Provence' villages of Ménerbes, Roussillon, Gordes etc. Delightful St Rémy de Provence, with specialist boutiques and restaurants, is only a 10 minute drive, Mediterranean beaches 45 minutes. Many typical Provencal markets in the area, including St Rémy de Provence, Cavaillon, Apt and the antique market of L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Close to Chateauneuf du Pape and Cotes du Rhone vineyards for superb wine tasting outings.
The House:
The house is entered by a hall, off which is the well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and microwave, utilities room with washing machine, also a WC and hand wash basin. The spacious dining/sitting room is comfortably furnished with good quality furniture, including some typically Provençal pieces such as a superb armoire. There is a fireplace with exposed stones, plenty of exposed beams and a stylish stone-built bar with sink. A timber staircase leads up to the bedrooms. French doors open from the sitting room to the large, tiled terrace with dining setting overlooking the garden and pool. An enormous, century old plane tree provides welcome shade to the terrace for the summer.
